A piano recital of Russian music will be offered as a benefit concert to aid Step By Step, a program that helps parolees returning to Redlands.

The concert is free, with a freewill offering to be collected after the performance.

The pianist will be Stephen Moore, associate professor and performance specialist at Cal State Dominguez Hills. His program will feature music by Rachmaninoff, Moussorgsky, Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky.

Moore has performed nationally and internationally, including in the University of Redlands artist series from 1997 to 1999. He was an assistant professor of music theory and jazz piano at the University of Redlands in 1993 and associate professor of theory and eurhythmics at Oberlin Conservatory in 2001.

Step By Step is a coalition of religious and civic organizations and individuals in Redlands that helps parolees navigate their return to the local community. Every month, about 30 former residents return to Redlands after being incarcerated in a California state prison, according to the organization's officials.
