It's the only gig in town with a giant pig flying over the audience.

The Pink Floyd Experience rolls into San Bernardino on Thursday at the California Theatre of Performing Arts and brings with it a rocking immersive experience with of the band's greatest hits with a light show, videos and more.

The show is put together with the tribute band Pink Froyd and Annerin Productions. Tom Quinn, the band's leader and lead guitarist, said his musical inspirations came from Pink Floyd writer, guitarist and vocalist David Gilmour.

"It was always my band," he said in a telephone interview from San Francisco. "David Gilmour was my guy. I always asked myself 'What would David Gilmour do?' "

The creator of the Pink Floyd Experience's aim was to get the audience to relive some of the band's stadium shows of its 40 year history. Included in the show are what Quinn calls "eye-popping videos" that are "spectacular."

"It's great to recreate this magic that's inspired me for so long," he said.

Quinn and his band have been rehearsing and working closely with the audio/video aspects of the show all last fall and through the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. The current tour has 39 U.S. dates and runs through March.

Performing in a smaller venue like the California Theatre has its advantages and disadvantages according to Quinn. He likes the acoustics in a smaller venue, but likes the size of a bigger venue so the crowd can get up and move around to the music.

"We can take advantage of any environment," he said. "As long as there is headroom for the pig to fly around."

The almost 2 ½-hour set includes Pink Floyd classics such as "Another Brick in the Wall," "Time" and "Wish You Were Here." Quinn said he is really excited to include some rare songs in the set as well. Some of those rarities include a tribute to Pink Floyd co-founder Syd Barrett and songs from "A Saucerful of Secrets."

"It's a thrill for us," he said. "We'll be racing down the freeway to San Bernardino. It should be lots of fun."
