Temecula-area dance students are invited to a free dance workshop led by the Koresh Dance Company of Philadelphia. The class will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater.
"If you're a dancer at any level, you definitely should take time out to see this," said Bruce Beers, theater manager.
By "any level," he means professionals down to children taking classes at any local dance studio.
As part of the "Temecula Presents" art series and its educational outreach efforts, Beers asks dance troupes performing at the theater to conduct complementary workshops the weekends of their performances.
Koresh Dance Company press materials describe the company's work as "an exciting and emotional blend of ballet, modern and jazz (dance) ... that is both eloquent and explosive."
Saturday's workshop is free, but can accommodate only 30 people. Anyone wishing to participate must reserve a spot in advance. To do so, or for more information, call 866-653-8696. Students taking Saturday's workshop should wear dance clothes.
Koresh Dance Company will perform at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets cost $25; $20 for seniors; $15 for students and youths. For tickets, go to www.TemeculaTheater.org
