Glennis Siegfried, a Riverside resident and senior photojournalism and library and information science major at Kent State University, earned a spot in a new exhibit for her photograph featuring the residents of Hattie Larlham Center.
The exhibit includes more than 30 panels. It presents the best student work from the first class in fall 2006 to the spring 2009 semester of a visual story-telling course offered by Ken State's School of Journalism and Mass Communication. More than 20 students' work will be represented at the show, including graduates and current students in programs ranging from visual communication design to marketing.
"Perhaps the best part for me was that I was finally able to display some of my work from the Hattie Larlham Center," Siegfried said in a news release.
"After working with some of the residents for over a year, it was a truly special experience to have the public be able to see these great kids who hold a place in my heart."
The photographs are on display in Moulton Hall at Kent State through Dec. 4 before going on a traveling tour throughout northeast Ohio.
Photographer and author Gary Harwood teaches the visual storytelling course at Kent State and chose the featured photographs for the exhibit.
