Meeting time and place: The public is invited to a meeting at 1:30 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month at the Simpson Center, 305 E. Devonshire Ave., Hemet.
Current projects: The association is working on its largest fundraiser of the year, Evening of Art. It also will have a booth at Hemet's 100-year anniversary celebration Jan. 23.
Notable accomplishments: The group has financially supported high school students to advance art and acknowledge students' talents.
Quote: "We are the only art association that holds classes in water color, oil, pastel, mixed media, photography, silk scarf painting, and summer art classes for children," Pierce said. "We are a small and friendly group. Our teachers are good and the classes are for anyone who wants to start painting."
Information: The Hemet Valley Art Association gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and is at 2115 E. Florida Ave., Suite D, Hemet. 951-652-4592.
