Michael W. McKinney has joined TMG Communications to head up the firm’s new government affairs division.

McKinney recently served as vice president of government affairs for developer Lewis Operating Corp. He also has been a partner at MICA-PR, a full-service government relations consulting firm, and worked 13 years with Southern California Edison. McKinney has been on the board of directors for the National Geothermal Collaborative, a public-private organization with the United States Department of Energy, and was elected to the 2008-2009 board of directors for the Building Industry Association of Southern California and the Apartment Association of the Greater Inland Empire.

TMG is based in Riverside.
